BENEFITING: VISION OF CHILDREN
EVENT DATE: Mar 09, 2013
Words from Vision of Children Family Network Member, Ashly, explaining why she has chosen to support us...
When my son, Jake, was 3 months old, the doctors told us he was blind. While we went from doctor to doctor, trying to find someone who saw what we saw - that he did have some vision. In the meantime we did a lot of research, which brought us to the Vision of Children website. Their description of OA was the first time that we found a diagnosis that sounded like what we were seeing in our son. Most importantly, we found out that there was hope for him to lead an independent life! After finding Vision of Children, we were a family with hope.
We now have two boys with OA, Jake is 9 years old, and Charlie is 4. They are doing great, but face challenges every day because they are visually impaired. Please help us support Vision of Children in their quest to fund research to cure Ocular Albinism and other genetic vision disorders. Help support their support of families who have visually impaired children. Help them give hope to others, like they gave us!
