Friends, Family, and Alumni of the House of Clara Barton,
The House of Clara Barton is having a phenomenal year! In August we welcomed 19 new members, and in January another 2 members joined us. We began the year with our traditional housewide dinner, and taking first place in the Great Race. August set the tone for our year and so far it has been a memorable one of purposeful relationship, house unity and spiritual growth in our community.
We are pleased to announce that our house will be furthering our growth during our Annual Barton Spring Retreat. We need your help to make it happen!
The House of Clara Barton has become a family to the 42 current members who have been placed within this house community while here at King’s –– but also to the many women who have gone before us, in the 10 years of the house system’s existence. We love to spend time together, eat together, laugh together, but also open our lives and hearts to each other. We encourage one another, pray for one another, and cry with one another. Our weekend away on Spring Retreat is essential to continue fostering this close-knit community.
The Barton Spring Retreat will take place from February 27th to March 1st, 2015. We will be sleeping, eating, worshipping, adventuring and bonding together throughout the weekend!
This weekend getaway will give us the opportunity to retreat from the stresses of school and work and provide us with rested and renewed spirits (as well as our house spirit) amidst the harsh NYC winter. This weekend gives us an amplified opportunity to pursue our house values of sisterhood, transparency, accountability and excellence through the study of scripture, future planning and deep conversation of our time in the house and coming years.
You can help make this happen! The costs of transportation, and food for our whole house totals approximately $2,500. Our hope is for every single Barton woman to be able to come without being burdened by extra costs in the middle of the semester. Please consider giving as much as you are able to support the House of Clara Barton! Your support will build relationships that will last much longer than our four years here at King’s.
Thank you for all of your help and for contributing to the special sisterhood we have in Barton.
