Domestic violence affects one in four women in our society, jeopardizing their lives, their self-esteem, their sense of empowerment and hope for the future.
As the video on this page shows, not all domestic abuse is physical. Many women are controlled through financial means, deprived by their intimate partner of their access to earnings, leaving them few choices but to stay with and depend on their abuser.
House of Ruth is dedicated to increasing the safety and well-being of women and children who experience domestic violence. As they rebuild their lives, we support survivors with with emergency and transitional shelter, individual counseling, children's programming, prevention, and outreach.
Your gift towards our fundraising goal of $100,000 during the month of October will help to support our programming and advocacy for survivors and their children. Thank you for your generosity and your affirmation of our work.
