Friends of the House of Margaret Thatcher,
The House is preparing for our biggest celebration of the year, and we need your help! We are an international sisterhood comprised of 46 current students and extended alumni, all united in one mission: to be a faith-deepening, gift-illuminating sisterhood founded in courageous love. Please help us preserve and further strengthen this great tradition.
This year, the ladies of Thatcher have a lot to celebrate. We initiated fifteen first years; hosted the first off-campus Red & Green Affair for the student body; wrote, choreographed, and produced the 2nd place short film in King’s first ever video House History Competition; traveled to a deer farm in Belvidere, New Jersey for our annual House Retreat; and instituted a Thatcher Parliament that will solidify the structure of the House in years to come. But the year isn’t over yet!
The End of Year Dinner is a tradition dating back to the founding of The House of Margaret Thatcher. Passed from each generation of Iron Women to the next, it is deeply woven in our House’s identity, serving as a manifestation of our House value:
1. Gift Illumination: We reward the spirit of servanthood in the House, celebrating the House Exec Team, Bible Study Leaders, Student Org Presidents, and so many others.
2. Iron Love: Each year, the Iron Women take turns sharing their favorite Thatcher memory. Over a final family meal, we reflect on both the triumphs and struggles of sisterhood.
3. Deep Well: This final communion is cemented in prayers of thanksgiving and prayer for guidance. We seek deep communion and relationship with one another but above all with God.
We are excited to carry on this tradition and celebrate The House of Margaret Thatcher at our dinner on May 2nd. Our budget for gifts, food, and a venue is $1,200. Please make a small donation ($10, $25, or $50) to support Thatcher’s End of Year Dinner celebration.
Thank you for your time and generosity to the House!
