To Help kick off the 2015 Combined Municipal Campaign (CMC), HSHHS Director Stephen Williams is taking part in the Hotter ‘N Hell One Hundred Mile Endurance Bicycle Ride August 23 to benefit the Houston HealthFoundation. This event is a 100 mile ride in 100 degree weather held originally to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the city of Wichita Falls. Roughly 8,000 to 10,00 riders participate each year, making the Hotter‘N Hell Hundred one of the largest sanctioned century bicycle rides in the Untied States.
How Hot is the Hotter ‘N Hell? The temperatures are consider hotter than the locally grown jalapeno peppers? Often thetemperature is more than 109 degrees, and winds seem to always be in your face whether you are coming and going. It is a ‘win’ to finish this century ride with often only 25 percent able to do so.
