How a Little Food and Medicine Can Help Sam
Organized by: Graig Yarbrough
EVENT DATE Sep 15, 2014
Sam Neapy and family live in an old house in the town of Monrovia, Liberia, and town named after President James Monroe, a prominent supporter of the colonization of Liberia, in 1822.
Sam resides in the country, where the deadly disease Ebola is out of control. He is safe for now, as the disease hasn’t reached his area yet; it soon may. Sam does not want a new car, a TV set, or the latest gaming system. He does not need a new set of furniture or the latest cell phone. Sam wants enough food for his family, access to medicine, and clean drinking water. Right now, the water Sam and his family use, comes from a pump in his neighbor’s house. It is directly from the river and It is not clean.
Even though Sam needs food, medicine, and clean water, he spends a little of his money at the local Internet café to seek help. He is reaching out to us to help him. He does not want a lot, just a little bit of money to help his situation.
I want to help Sam in a way that helps him maintain his dignity while at the same time, give him what he needs for his family. I don’t need, nor want any of this money for helping Sam. I want it all to go to him. He has a bank account where it can be deposited. With it, he can buy food; medicine and doctors care for his children, and a way to get clean water. Please contact me for any questions you may have.
