BENEFITING: HOPE REINS OF RALEIGH
Hope Reins of Raleigh provides comfort to hurting children and their families through one-on-one sessions connecting them to extraordinary ‘equine counselors,’ many of whom are rescued horses and faced abuse and neglect themselves. We serve children ages 5 to 18 struggling with life crisis--trauma, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, family addictions, loss or grief, chronic or life threatening illness, or who live in an at-risk environment. All services are free of charge. Since our inception in 2010, we have:
- Implemented over 2,500 90-minute sessions with a child in need
- Served over 1,000 children and 300 families
- Supported over 20 referral partners such as Wake County DSS, Durham & Raleigh Rescue Mission, Agape Corner, Ronald McDonald House, and Chosen by Grace.
- Hosted dozens of “roundups” to reach and serve specific groups and organizations such as Children of the Fallen, Ft. Bragg Military Base, Step Up Ministries, Boys & Girls Clubs.
Hope Reins has or is serving hurting families in 12 North Carolina counties. 8 out of 10 of our active families have stated they could not afford to pay for similar services like Hope Reins; we help a large number of low and moderate-income families and communities (foster care parents, group homes, and homeless families living in shelters.) Over 80% of our families said their child’s critical issue was reduced ‘very much’ or ‘some’ through sessions at Hope Reins, and the vast majority of parents say they have seen a difference in their child in just three sessions.
Now, we have an incredible opportunity to secure a permanent home. For the past five years, we have leased property, but are now under contract with a 33-acre former cattle ranch that the Lord has brought us to. While we have secured a loan for a large portion of the funding, we need to move our operations, close on the loan, and pay for the upfit. With your support, conservative estimates are that Hope Reins will increase our capacity 150% from 2015-2017.
Won't you please help us? We have 3 weeks to go until our deadline and need $170,000 to close on this amazing forever home. As wise stewards, the board of Hope Reins has required that we meet this goal for the necessary support with the new land, as well as the much needed funds to construct operations.
This incredible journey will require many hands willing to work, hearts willing to pray and the generosity of friends present and past. Thank you for your consideration and God bless!
