BENEFITING: GLEASONS GIVE A KID A DREAM
John Douglas once said, 'focus or get hit' and that's an axiom Howard Sherman lives by. Originally hailing from Wayne, New Jersey, Howard calls Brooklyn home these days and uses boxing to stay young and maintain the self discipline that's made him a success in life.
In the spirit of Douglas, boxing has given Howard the gift of maintaining a sense of calm and focus while under duress.
He's led by example his whole life and has raised his children with the same strong values he possesses.
Boxing has given him the gift of maintaining a sense of calm and focus while under duress.
Having lived an incredibly full and adventure filled life up to this point, he's now looking to give back through his boxing. To him, the sport breeds role models, his being Mohammed Ali and Manny Pacuiao, and he wants to direct his attention and focus to worthwhile causes just like those greats did. A few charities that hold a special spot in his heart; Sanibel Sea School, a non-profit with a mission to help kids, from Brooklyn to Alaska and everywhere in between, to learn to love the ocean, The 911 Fund and Give A Kid A Dream.
