BENEFITING: CASCADIA GEOSCIENCES
Humboldt Alumni and Friends,
Each year the Humboldt State Geology Department faces the challenge of maintaining the outstanding educational experience provided by summer field camp amidst the rising cost of tuition and operational expenses.
As many of us can attest, HSU Geology Field Camp played an integral role in our independent and professional development. Field Camp experiences propelled our knowledge and understanding of geology, strengthened our team building skills, and immersed ourselves in the science of geological mapping and interpretation. Without that extended field experience, many of us would not be where we are today.
With that said, let’s raise some money for the 2014 HSU students and our future co-workers and colleagues! Summer Geology Field Camp launches at the end of May, giving us just enough time to raise some money and help offset the cost of fuel and food for the 2014 students.
We are asking for donations that will help us reach our goal of $3,000. Every donation will go directly to the Dept. of Geology for the 2014 Field Camp. There is a transaction fee charged by the credit card companies and by the website we are using, but this fee is marginal (~8%) and will simply be taken from your donation (not an addition above your donation). This funding effort is being managed by Cascadia GeoSciences http://cascadiageo.org so that donations are tax deductible! Once you donate, you should get a receipt that will work for your tax preparation documentation needs.
Thanks in advance for your generosity. Go Team Humboldt!
