EVENT: Flint Water Crisis
THE STORY:
STILL NOT RESOLVED
Despite having switched back to a safe water source, the water delivery infrastructure is damaged in Flint. The water is still unsafe to drink. The government will not continue to distribute water. Water filters have helped to remove the contaminants, but they need to be replaced. Please consider making a donation today.
While we can’t personally repair the corroded water infrastructure in Flint, we can love our neighbor by being a source of water and financial assistance to the lives impacted by this crisis.
Salem Lutheran in Flint continues to provide bottled water to those in need. In addition, they distribute replacement water filters and distribute food to the hungry.
Regardless of the politics of the Flint water crisis, what we know to be fact is that many are without usable water. As disciples, what we also know to be fact is that Christ calls us to assist in times of need such as this. Christ calls us to action! Let’s let the residents of Flint, MI know that we are here for them, hold them in prayer, and willing to go the extra mile to get them life-giving water!
