Human Rights in Childbirth (HRiC) is an international organization convening some of the most influential thought leaders in human rights and maternity care. HRiC works tirelessly to address global maternal and newborn health issues through the lens of human rights in interdisciplinary and innovative ways. Our organization challenges the professional and political segmentation of women’s and children’s health, and advocates for recognition of the full range of human rights at stake in pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum. HRiC has successfully organized six international conferences in The Hague, the U.S., Belgium, Croatia, and South Africa. Bringing together lawyers, activists, doctors, midwives, social scientists, bioethicists and other concerned people for the discussion of the human rights at stake for birthing persons and newborns, these conferences enabled the exchange of information about the actions underway in different places toward the development of evidence-based and respectful maternity care, including issues related to race, gender and socioeconomic status. These collaborations gave rise to ongoing partnerships and strategic advocacy that has had measurable impact on women’s rights and options in childbirth in local maternity care systems. We are looking forward to future conferences in France and India within the next year. Your contributions to HRIC are the backbone of our growing organization. Not only does your support keep the lights on, it drives a global birth justice movement. More specifially, your donation will support two of our upcoming global campaigns ("Break the Silence" and "Know Your Rights"), conference coordinating efforts in France and India, and administrative organizing here at home. By donating to HRiC, you actively take a stake in the movement and push the needle toward realizing the full potential of what it means to live in a world where respecting human rights is fundamental and begins with birth. Thank you so much for your passion and dedication to the cause, and your generosity to HRiC. In solidarity and gratitude.
