Meet Old Boy- a lost dog who came to us in May. When he arrived he was lonely, hungry and very uncomfortable due to his poor skin condition and ear infection. Old Boy is a 12 year old, gentle, affectionate dog. He has become a staff favorite, and despite his hair loss and skin infection, we think he is such a handsome fellow! He is currently up for adoption, and is often overlooked because of his age. As a no-kill shelter, we will never euthanize for space or length of stay. Old Boy will stay here as long as it takes for him to find a new home to live out his golden years! Old Boy is just one of hundreds of homeless, unwanted animals that we have cared for so far this year.
Last year we found homes for 948 animals. Our pledge to the members of our community- two and four-legged alike- is to conduct our work with compassion, a commitment to education, prevention and intervention, and with high standards of both animal care and to the welfare of our community. We are a private, independent, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that receives no city, state or federal funding. We are not affiliated with any national organizations, such as the Humane Society of the United States. We rely solely on the limited revenue generated by our programs and fees, and on the tremendous generosity of our community.
We need your help to continue this important work. Help us raise $20,000. We fell short in reaching our fundraising goal for our 22nd Annual Walk for the Animals in June (our largest fundraiser). We need to raise this money to help us meet our budget and continue to save so many lives. Thank you for your compassion and support!
