BENEFITING: Human Rights Campaign NYC Marathon Team
ORGANIZER: Human Rights Campaign NYC Marathon Team
I am humbled and excited to be able to do what I love, race in a race I've dreamed of running in and support to give a voice to those I love through this incredible organization.
I am personally touched by being the lucky mom of Ronan. Two years ago, this brave, loving, strong man told me he was transgender and would be starting treatments for his transition from Rachael to Ronan. There were signs along this journey for several years prior and it made me happy as his mom that he was to a point where he could reach out and live the life he dreamed. He has been on T for over a year now and is happier than ever. He just recently legally changed his name and got engaged to his best friend, Jen. I love this kid so much and this is only a small way I can give back to support him.
I also have a nephew, several loving friends and many employees who face hard issues everyday because of them just being who they are. I cry, I worry, I wish every day that I can do more for everyone.
Thank you for helping me with this big goal and giving us a bigger voice to have equality for everyone!

The Athletes for Equality Program is a great way to do something great for yourself and for others! You'll join the Team to train and participate in the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon as a group of committed athletes. As you train, you'll raise funds for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Make your miles meaningful with us and join us as we run on the right side of history.
Every day, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation works to enhance the lived experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people and their families by changing hearts and minds across America and around the globe.
If you believe in equality for all, lace up your running shoes and join the Team to train and fundraise on the right side of history. Each dollar raised will improve the lives of LGBTQ people by working to increase understanding and encourage the adoption of LGBTQ-inclusive policies and practices. Your incredible commitment will help us as we build support for LGBTQ people among families and friends, co-workers and employers, pastors and parishioners, doctors and teachers, neighbors, and the general public.
