Hello, my name is John malbacias. I want to share my story with a humble heart. I'm a naval gulf war veteran. Blessed to have been healthy my whole life, raised a family, and tried to live my life the best I could. In my life now, kids grown, my wife and I live a simple life. My employment is driving for the Denver public transit system. The division is for the handicapped, mental, and physical. A blessing in disguise. Humbled by my people I pick up, that cannot walk, without eyesight. But a smile, that recognizes a friendship between us that makes my day. That was my daily life until July 25th 2016. I had a heart attack. Getting ready for work that morning felt like my heart was being stabbed, sweating bad. Didn't bother my wife, thought, anxiety, but the pain and sweating continued. Knew then that it was something worse. Woke my wife, and said, babe I'm having a heart attack, need hospital now. In a blur and so fast, I had 3 stents put in 2 main arteries. All I kept telling my was that I was so sorry. She has been my rock. Had to quit her job as a waitress to be my care provider. A long road we have. Heart rehab, numerous med appts, and pills for life, we have exhausted what savings we had to make sure we have a roof over our heads, got some food assistance because of no income coming in. Have to still be cleared to work and not sure if I'll be able to resume my job that I was good at, and missing my friends that daily Waited on me to pick them up. That made me sad when I reflect on our life and how it has changed...in the blink of an eye. Be blessing an humbled for what you do have! So with a tear now I'm humbled to ask for any help given, and know to all that there is far more life stories that need more help. Thank you for the heart and ear. God bless us all!
