BENEFITING: Forgotten Harvest
EVENT DATE: Dec 17, 2016
Hunger for the Harvest is a student volunteer movement in which Oakland University students come together to build awareness surrounding hunger in the Metro Detroit area and fundraise for Forgotten Harvest, a nonprofit organization.
Student participants will fast for up to 12 hours on December 17th 2016 to raise awareness for hunger in Metro Detroit. You can donate to this cause by sponsering a student to fast. Choose a dollar amount you will donate for every hour the student successfully fasts. Each dollar raised will bring 10 meals to hungry families in the Metro Detroit area.
The fundraiser will culminate in a demonstration held on Oakland University Campus on December 17th 2016 where Hunger for the Harvest will invite speakers to come and spread awareness about the hunger problems in our surrounding neighborhoods. Hunger for the Harvest will also be accepting food donataions of dry non-perishables at the event.
Join us while we fight hunger in our community!
