Dear Hunter and Cassie,

Thanks so much for your generous donation to my bike ride fundraiser. It really means a lot when former students support the ministry we're doing on the AU campus.

Thanks again for your contribution and for all you have given the community already over the years.

Everyone, Thank you all for…
Everyone,

Thank you all for making our bike ride fundraiser to support the United Methodsit campus ministry at American University a success. We set a goal for the fundraiser that I wasn't sure was doable, and you all helped us to succeed beyond our wildest hopes. We wound up exceeding our goal by 29%!

With the school year about to start, these funds will help us to be able to reach out to the incoming class by building a community of welcome for everyone, a community engaged in worship and study, a community engaged in service and social justice, and a community that builds real and meaningful relationships. The fall is a busy time, full of important and vital programming as we try to reach out to these new students, and serve our existing students. Your support has made it possible for us to provide these important programs for the AU campus community.

My bike ride was a success: I managed to make it to Chicago as scheduled in 10 days, averaging 79 miles a day, with my longest day about 95 miles. I survived heat, hills, mountains, rainstorms, wind, dirt roads, flat tires, and a pair of really sore legs in many ways because I knew I had so much support behind me. And so I thank you not only for your financial support of our ministry, but your moral support of me as I rode. I blogged the entire trip and so if you're interested you can read the daily entries at http://lifeinhelvetica.blogspot.com

Thank you all again for your contributions to our fundraiser and for making it such a success. And thanks for your partnership in ministry. Best wishes for a restful and relaxing remainder to your summer.

Dear Hunter and Cassandra, …
Dear Hunter and Cassandra,

First, let me say thanks for making a contribution to my bike ride fundraiser. Second, DORF is a brilliant acronym.

I got in safely to Chicago last night, really happy to have made it but really, really exhausted as well. It was always a source of encouragement to know there were so many people out there supporting me and the ride.

So thanks again for your contribution and for your partnership in ministry. Talk to you soon.
