BENEFITING: Huntington's Disease Society of America, Inc.
I had never heard of Huntington’s disease until meeting an amazing girl who would later become my wife. Early on in our dating life she brought up the fact that her father had a genetic disease and that she potentially did also. She gave me an out if I wasn’t prepared to take it all on… But God shapes our lives in ways we could never imagine and I knew that day that this was not only the girl I would marry but something that would characterize and strengthen our family for generations to come. I have been blessed to be a part of a family that has lived with this disease with absolute faith, complete courage, and unending love.
My father in-law passed away January 19th, 2017. There is not a day that goes by that we don’t think about him. Although I was never able to spend time with Ed prior to Huntington’s affect, he taught me what it meant to be a husband, father and man of faith like I never thought one could. I am running the New York City Marathon for him as well as our daughter who will be at the finish line November 5th, 2017.
