DAYS TO GO: 133
Hi! I'm Lindsay! Nice to meet you :) I am a daughter, wife, sister, registered nurse, small business owner, and Huntington's warrior. I lost my hero, my Dad, to HD in March of 2015 after a 20+ year battle. His name was Philip, yes, just one "l", and he loved nothing more than THE Ohio State Buckeyes, brownies, a good Mountain Dew, and me. He loved all of us kids, but I was his first born, and he loved being my Daddy.
From the farm to the ball fields, whoever he was with and wherever he was, my Dad made himself known. He had a larger than life personality (I don't know ANYONE else like that - ha!) and was always my biggest cheerleader. He played a little college football himself, so being a bad-ass is kind of in my blood.
I am running the TCS NYC Marathon with big intentions of making the world know what took my Daddy away from me so many years ago. While it has only been a short 2 years since he passed, anyone who has seen HD take its toll on a person knows it really takes the person they were much, much sooner. His 59th birthday would have been the week after the marathon, and I have no doubt that I was meant to be here in this place at this time. There is no greater honor than to run for him as well as all of my friends around the world affected by Huntington's disease. Your support means more than you know, and I am so excited to take on the Concrete Jungle of NYC and share our story. He will always be a part of me, and I refuse to quit and let him down. Let's do this!
