With the support of NAAIP Members, the National Association for the Advancement of Indigenous People attended the 15th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in May. After a two year effort to be heard, NAAIP Director General, Hemoc Xelup and delegation were finally allowed to make an "Official Statement" to the UNPFII on the 18th of May.
Now that we have spoken to the international community, we must address the United States. We must address the RIGHT ISSUES with the RIGHTS AGENCIES, concerning the theft of children, artifacts, lands, and identity.
Since our visit to the United Nations, we have begun a nation-wide campaign for Indigenous and Aborigine right to "Identity". We have great need for support from NAAIP membership as we travel across America meeting with tribal families everywhere, in preparation to deliver our messages to Washington, D.C, where we will demand a response to the crucial identity questions of American Indian and Aborigine, before President Obama leaves office. THE TIME IS NOW, or all unrecognized American Aborigine will lose their rights.
At this time, you can support NAAIP in the following ways:
- schedule a "Presentation With The Director"
- donations, as we are not agency, government, or politically funded
- tribal regional reps
Your donations will support addressing these issues at the Department of Energy, Interior, Congress, DOJ and others. Please Contact Oka-hat-Sakti-apichili/Berhane at 857.990.8319 / email firstname.lastname@example.org
DONATE TO NAAIP - HELP OUR VOICES GROW LOUDER.
