Oxford High School will hold our 2nd annual Breast Cancer Walk on October 14th at 730 am to 8 am at 101 Charger Loop, Oxford, MS. The reason why I began this last year was to make students aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and that it can affect anyone! Teaching over 100 females a day, I felt the need for awareness was very important. We have had teachers, parents, friends, and many relatives fight this disease. A lot of survivors and some who lost their battle. Students were very engaged last year and I felt the need to continue this tradition at our high school and go beyond just a walk this year and raise money. My mom is breast cancer survivor, therefore, raising awareness is so much more important to me. We all hear that early detection is the key, and most people who find it early, do survive! So lets get out our tennis shoes, wear our pink and raise above and beyond our goal.
