"I Pledge to Share" for a Sustainable World
Organized by: Arjun Patel
Over the past decade, the effects of our carbon footprint has dramatically changed the climate. One of the reasons can be credited to hyper-consumerism, the over production of consumer goods, owing to excessive use of limited resources.
"Sometimes it can be difficult to visualize just how much we consume. While purchasing 'green this' and 'eco-friendly that' is all well and good, one of the root causes of our environmental problems is hyper consumption. We simply buy too much of what we don't really need."
I want people to "Pledge to Share" to help spread awareness of Climate Change and the effects of hyper-consumption.
The more we spread awareness of the "I Pledge to Share" the more successful our cause to raise awareness to reverse climate change will be.
Next time you go shopping, ask yourself if you can borrow that item you're looking for.
Next time your friend is about to buy something they might only use once, share that something with them.
Reduce, Reuse, and Pledge to Share.
The company I work for, Beepyo, also wants people to pledge to share and has agreed to match whatever we make here.
Risks and challenges:
This campaign is just to spread awareness of the effects of hyper-consumption in our global economy. The only reason why we are asking for $1000 is to pay for the materials we will be sending.
A lot of the world population still believes that climate change isn't a real threat or even an imminent threat to not only us, but most living species. This is my effort to spread awareness.
