For the past 3 years I have committed my time to Feed New York - a non-for-profit (501c) that is 100% supported by donations to deliver its mission to providing groceries and/or hot food to the underserved families of NYC's five boroughs. Government food assistance programs fall short of providing families with quality food such as fresh produce and instead focus on food staples with little nutritional value. Child obesity and adult-related health conditions such as cardiovascular disease are at epidemic levels in NYC. Feed New York supplements government aid where the need is the greatest to about 17,000 people monthly. This holiday season, Feed New York wishes to provide year end meals to the people we serve.
To raise awareness, I teamed up to run 30 miles in the month of November. Believe me, running at least a mile a day is not easy considering I've never ran a full mile. But I wanted to do this as a symbolic gesture to go the "extra mile" for the families.
Please help support this great cause with a tax-deductible donation at the link. 100% of your donation will go towards feeding these families.
Thank you for going the extra mile for NYC!
