BENEFITING: Nomi Network
EVENT DATE: Oct 08, 2016
For the last 2 months of my life I've been contorting my schedule into all sorts of weird shapes in order to accommodate my increasingly long runs, I've started to think outside the box regarding hydration (I've never liked Gatorade), I've gotten lost in Prospect Park twice, and I now know that shin splints aren't something you wear--they happen to you. Why, would a relatively sane human being put up with all of this, in-fact, impose it upon oneself? To feel motivated to exercise and release running endorphins - sure! To be able to eat ice-cream 5-6 times a week and not feel guilty - yes! To raise funds for one's favorite world-changing non-profit? You better believe it. My husband David and I will be running the Brooklyn Rock and Roll Half Marathon on October 8th to raise funds and awareness for stopping human trafficking in it's tracks, and supporting the life giving work of Nomi Network. Nomi Network creates economic opportunities for women who are survivors and at risk of human trafficking. To learn more check out out website: www.nominetwork.org. You can see the products that the women we serve make here: www.buyherbagnotherbody.com. Please consider making a donation of any size as I try to reach my goal of $2000 by early October. We are very grateful for your support!
