Stuff About Me:

I am one of the founders and the executive director of Operation Help Now, a nonprofit that directly helps people in need and works within communities to create sustainable change.  By helping children get off the street, providing guidance, and sponsoring kids, I am giving back to a world that I want to see change for the better.  I have overcome obsticles and educated myself (got BA at UMass Dartmouth) with the help of many kind and generous people and organizations.  Because of their kindness, I am now able to pass this forward and help others.  I am blessed to be able to help people and to work with the awsome OHN volunteers and sponsors.  I started OHN as a student organization at UMass Dartmouth, helping people in the local community in New Bedford. I had helped kids through other nonprofits and ran the Boston Marathon for charity several times, and when I went to UMass I met others who shared my dream of changing the world by helping people directly, and we started OHN.  Our first trips were to New Orleans and to Haiti, and we started organizing regular trips to Haiti even before the earthquake, after which we stepped up our efforts and founded the second Second Chance of Life orphanage.  I went to Sierra Leone by myself in 2009 (this is my country of origin, although I am American now) and started the first Second Chance of Life Home to get some children that I met off the street.  These kids were working and struggling to survive, living outside (as I did, as a lost boy in Sierra Leone), and now they are living in a loving home, cared for by adults, recieving guidance and an education.  It is wonderful to be able to help them, as people helped me.  You can help too!  We have a lot of local programs in communities in the US.  I just started (and had fun at!) our free summer soccer program near where I live in Boston.  Volunteerism has been a really positive activity in my life, and now is at the center or everything I do.
