Today, there are about six hundred million adolescent girls in the world: six hundred million lives, six hundred million dreams, six hundred million voices.
Right now, we have six hundred million chances to create a better world than the one we live in today.
ICRW’s innovative research and advocacy puts women and girls at the center of efforts to end poverty, improve health and create a more equitable world. Our report, I Know. I Want. I Dream: Girls’ Insights for Building a Better World, helped inform The Girl Declaration – a collaboration of the voices of more than 500 adolescent girls that is a global call to action. Girls with hopes and dreams of a safer, healthier, more equitable world.
We’re talking to girls to determine what they need to improve their lives. We’re working with young girls like Preeti in India through GEMS, a curriculum ICRW and partners developed that promotes equitable gender norms to end violence against women and girls, and Enana in Ethiopia through TESFA, a program evaluated by ICRW that empowers young married girls to advocate for themselves - within the confines of a life they did not choose.
We need YOU to help us continue to make the voices of girls and women heard and listened to.
ICRW talks to women and girls. We help their voices be heard. Our evidence-based insight seeks to optimize programs, influence policies and identify solutions that help women and girls lead safer, healthier and more empowered lives – leading to a brighter future for all. Thank you for supporting our work!
