BENEFITING: IEA BOOSTER CLUB A NJ NONPROFIT CORPORATION
EVENT DATE: May 03, 2015
April is Autism Awareness Month. As many of you know, being a parent to a young child can bring about a mountain of challenges to go along with all of the love, joy, laughter and smiles our kids give us. One of the more important challenges is finding a way to foster the fresh, young mind of a child with the best possible education our economic situations will allow. When you have a child who is diagnosed with Autism, as you can imagine, the challenges are exponentially more difficult to manage. Every child with autism faces unique challenges, and every family affected by autism needs reliable support and expert guidance.
A friend and co-worker of mine is the co-chair for the Institute for Educational Achievement (http://www.ieaschool.org/), a private non-profit educational program providing highly individualized educational services to students with autism in New Milford, NJ. Two of his three young children have been diagnosed with Autism. Knowing what parents will do for their children and seeing, second hand, how much more difficult it is for the parents of autistic children, I feel the responsibility to do something to support this cause. This is why I have decided to ride in the TD Five Borough Bike ride on Sunday May 3rd in support of the Institute for Educational Achievement. You can help too by pledging a donation. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
