You like romantic walks along the river with friends, building community, and celebrating with the baddest asian folks in NYC...
Join Christine and other folks celebrating CAAAV, Chinatown, LES and years of hard work that's ensured community members have a say in how our neighborhoods are developed.
On Saturday, September 8th, 2012 our TAKE STEPS FOR CHINATOWN fundraiser walk-a-thon will be celebrating the success of Chinatown residents in ensuring that community voices were represented in the development of the East River Waterfront in New York City.
Participants will form teams to walk the length of the waterfront, learn more about the campaign that brought community voices to the development process, and support ongoing efforts to increase community input in the planning of our neighborhood. The event will start at the basketball courts on Rutgers Slip and South Street, right on the waterfront. Registration begins at 9:30am, and the program will officially start at 11am. Join us for a day of live music, recreational activities, and community building. Lower East Side and Chinatown residents and organizations will be available to share the organizing history around this precious public space.
