BENEFITING: DOWNTOWN WOMENS CENTER
I will be hiking 220 miles on the John Muir Trail in September - Yosemite to Mount Whitney. As I prepare, I am both excited and nervous to have this solo journey in the wilderness. I am also aware that this is only possible because I am fortunate enough to have the support and resources necessary to accomplish this goal. I know not all women are in a place in their lives where taking off on an adventure is even a possibility. I want to use this hike to raise money for the Downtown Women's Center, the only organization in Los Angeles exclusively dedicated to addressing the needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness in Skid Row. They offer housing, job training, food, medical assistance, and more for women who are struggling with the difficulties of life on the streets. I'm shooting to raise at least $10 dollars per mile on the hike and acheive $2,220 total. If 220 people donate just $10, we're there! Please contribute what you can and let's help empower these sisters so they can accomplish their own dreams.
