The Tyler Robinson Foundation begins with the story of Tyler – one of many heroes who chose not to let his prognosis dictate his outlook on life who at 16-years-old, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
Those who knew Tyler were inspired by his courage, and his insistence on enjoying life and spreading happiness despite the physical and emotional strain of living with cancer. In the years leading up to his passing, he was able to touch countless lives, including the members of rock band, Imagine Dragons, with whom he'd created a close friendship. Determined to continue Tyler’s legacy of creating something positive despite the odds, his family and Imagine Dragons came together to create the Tyler Robinson Foundation.
THE MISSION OF THE TYLER ROBINSON FOUNDATION (TRF):
To strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses.
HOW TRF HELPS FAMILIES:
Families adopted into the TRF program receive monthly monetary grants (totaling between $12,000 and $17,000 annually) and a certified financial advisor to help navigate their life and medical expenses. The monthly grants are provided specifically to alleviate the day-to-day expenses such as rent, mortgage, utilities, car payments, treatment travel costs, etc.
