EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
As some of you may know, I have been a mentor to a NYC high school student through iMentor for the past 4 years, and recently became more involved with the organization as a member of the young executive board. iMentor is an amazing program that builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their goals. This year alone, iMentor will work with 3,500 pairs across the country, the program’s largest number of students ever. Working with my mentee, Tylor, these past four years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have seen him grow tremendously as a student and individual, be the first of his class to be accepted to college, and graduate with the rest of his class earlier this summer. I am truly proud to call myself a mentor in this program!
In the spirit of giving, I have decided to fundraise on behalf of the organization by running in 2016 New York City Marathon on November 6th. Every donation will help iMentor continue their transformative work. I hope that you will consider making a gift to support this important cause.
