EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2016
When it came time to fundraise for my first half-marathon in years, I decided upon iMentor; a school-based mentoring program that empowers high school students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions by partnering with public schools to provide students with a college-educated mentor for three to four years.
It's a really amazing opportunity for these kids to get exposed to positive role models and support that will lead to their success.
This year, iMentor aims to serve their largest number of first-generation college students ever. Team iMentor members (which I'm now part of!) will have the opportunity to raise awareness and support for iMentor, helping more students from low-income communities succeed in college and achieve their ambitions.
As a former student from a high-needs community, I know how important having positive role models is to long-term success. Please donate what you can, no amount is too small!
