Immigrant Defense Fund x Mo' Money Mo' Progress
Organized by: Mo' Money Mo' Progress
Event Name: MO' MONEY MO' PROGRESS
Less than two weeks after Trump was elected, two leading immigrant rights organizations—MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) and NDLON (National Day Laborer Organizing Network)—joined forces to create a new legal defense fund that seeks to protect and advance immigrants’ civil rights at a time when they have never been more threatened. The initiative will bring legal challenges against any new, unconstitutional measures taken by the Trump administration, including unlawful raids.
You should give because… Trump has promised to immediately deport two to three million undocumented immigrants as soon as he gets into office. Legal defense funds, which help clients who can’t afford exorbitant legal fees, are particularly vital for undocumented people, who—unlike US citizens—are not entitled to free legal representation in immigration court.
A note about this fundraiser: Because the Immigrant Defense Fund is not a standalone 501c3, we can't donate directly to it via this Crowdrise fundraiser because it is not in the Crowdrise database. Mo' Money Mo' Progress is collecting funds for the Immigrant Defense Fund directly and will disburse funds to the organization on Dec 31st 2016. For full transparency, we'll share an update to all donors with a receipt of our donations when we make them.
