Improve Liam's quality of life
Organized by: Kimberly Chapieski
Liam is a 6 year old boy with severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Liam is currently unable to walk, but thanks to a non-invasive surgical procedure offered in the USA (SPML), Liam's quality of life can be improved and he can be given the ability to learn to walk. Unfortunately, this procedure is not funded by the government and costs $30,000. Liam works hard everyday to further his abilities and has already surpassed doctor expectations thanks to many hours of intensive therapy also not funded by the government. Liam wants to walk like his friends but he cannot learn this skill without this medical intervention. Without SPML, as Liam ages and grows, his muscles become tighter making it painful for him and increasing his risk for scoliosis and for his hips to dislocate. Please help give Liam a chance to improve his quality of life.
