For over 25 years now, Wilda Hayes has dedicated her life to Ann's Place and to keeping hope alive for all those in our community touched by cancer.
In 1987, Ron Olsen, Wilda's amazing husband, and Wilda began administering a fund in Ron's late wife's name, the Ann Olsen Endowment. The endowment began the merger with I Can in 1995 to supply a broader range of cancer support services in The Greater Danbury area. In 1997, Wilda began her work as Executive Director and then President of the organization. She retired in 2013 and never, ever drew a salary over that 16 year period. Even though she's been "retired" for four years now she still puts in full-time hours as the Chair of the Festival of Trees and a dedicated member of Ann's Place Board of Directors!
Day by day it gets harder and harder to find someone that has not in one way or another been affected by cancer. Ann's Place is there for all, without charge.
As a tribute to Wilda for her years of dedication and service, I run the 2017 Amber Room Run From The Sun 5k in her Honor and I hope you will support me. All donations go directly to Ann's Place cancer support services. Together, let's show Wilda how much she is appreciated. Our community would not be the same without Ann's Place!
I also welcome you to join me as a team member.
