BENEFITING: Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Inc.
Brian Young, was an avid supporter of the US space program, both manned and unmanned. His dedication to the various space program projects for which he worked, as well as his incredible depth and breadth of knowledge of each, was an inspiration and an amazement to all who knew him. In addition to the real-life space program, Brian possessed a passion for science-fiction, most especially Star Trek; again with an amazing depth and breadth of knowledge that dazzled us all. He was a kind and friendly man and will be missed greatly. In his memory, collections are being made for the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, created by the Mercury 7 astronauts. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist in educating the next generation of American scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. They encourage students to pursue advanced educations and careers in the STEM fields by awarding scholarships to the best and brightest minds and by building a mentoring network that allows their Astronaut Scholars to connect with astronauts, each other, and innovative technology leaders throughout the nation. The prestigious Astronaut Scholarship is known for being among the most significant scholarships awarded to undergraduate STEM students. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, nonprofit organization. To continue our mission, we rely on the generous donations of our patrons. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible and go a long way in educating the next generation of American scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.
