Donald E Miller Sr. passed away early Sunday afternoon, November 27th, 2016 from complications resulting from numerous cancers. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 64 years, Ethel (Patsy) Miller, sons, Donald Jr. and Keith, and daughter Tricia. Donald (Don) also had six grandchildren, David, Emily, Andrew, Stephanie, Brian and Ethan. Don, the youngest son of Estella and Irving Miller, was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1932. Upon completion of high school, Don spent his entire career at the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone (C&P) company. He also was drafted and served in the army in Germany in 1953 through 1955. Don began his career with C&P climbing poles and hanging wires and worked his way into management and acquired tremendous expertise in fiber optics. Don retired from C&P after 32 years and then threw himself into a teaching career, sharing his numerous years of experience. He later found time to relax a bit and spent time with family and friends. Don worked hard to provide for his wife and children for many years. He taught each of his children that if you work hard, you can achieve anything! He demonstrated a strong work ethic that served the family well. He also taught us the value of a dollar and the value of family. He was passionate and loving in the lives of his grand children and he will be sadly missed. For those of you who knew Don well, you know he is now with his mother, father, and brother Irving, laughing , looking down on us and responding with his resounding AMEN! In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Don's name.
