In rembererance of Roberto Castillo Jr
Organized by: Klarissa Castillo
In memory of our loving father Roberto Castillo Jr who was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer 8/20/16. On August 22, we found out the cancer was too advanced in that it had spread to his bones and treatment was not an option. All we could do was manage his pain. He came home under hospice care August 30th through Comfort Care Hospice, which I may add have been so wonderful to our father. We had him for another 11 days before he lost his battle September 10, 2016. Everything has happened so quickly. It's been a long process through Social Security for disability and Medicaid and so forth. It's been a nightmare! So much paperwork. The ironic thing is, my father carried health insurance as long as he was working. And now when he needed it the most, he was unable to afford insurance because he was unable to work. And now we are at a standstill with the process. How does this work? What if he's not approved? How do we cover his medical expenses? And any funeral costs? Any money raised will be used to cover any of his outstanding bills, doctor bills, hospice care and funeral expenses. Any excess will be donated to prostate cancer research.
