THE STORY:

Our society today denies kids the opportunity to believe that they can make a difference in the world. I am here, as a kid, to prove everyone wrong. My name is Andrew Roth, and I am a current Junior in high school. I started a non-profit organization called Champions for Charity this year, with the hope that I can show young children that they can in fact make a difference themselves in the community and in the world. As a soccer player, I believe that if I had the opportunity to play for a cause, that would be an experience I would learn from and never forget. So without further delay, I initiated the Inaugural Champions for Charity Soccer Tournament, taking place this coming Spring (May 7th). The way this works is that teams registering will designate a charity that they want to play for. Then, every game they play, they will win money for that charity. Instead of taking the team's entrance fee ourselves, we are redistributing it to the selected charities, so that the kids can see what kind of difference they are making, and what it feels like to give back. Many people know the feeling of what it is like to directly see your hard work help someone else out. Now, I'm trying to show young athletes around the community what that feeling is like. I am asking for your help to reach my fundraising goal because I am trying to keep the conversion from tournament entrance fee to charity donation as high as possible. However, with every tournament comes lots of costs associated with it, like referees, goals, fields, etc. I need help keeping that conversion percentage as high as possible for the young kids to make the largest possible impact they can. Please check out our website at www.champions4charity.org to learn more, and see how the details of the tournament work! Instead of donating directly to a charity, you will be donating to Champions for Charity so that we can have kids donate to that charity. It is as simple as that. So I implore, help us, so that we can help kids in the effort to be Winning for the World. Our society today denies kids the opportunity to believe that they can make a difference in the world.
