Incredible Ipad for Inspiring Incredible Individual
Organized by: Shayna Markwongnark
EVENT DATE May 23, 2014
Chelsea is a sister, daughter, wife, friend, cousin, or coworker to you. Yet to her students she is so much more than just their teacher. More often than not she is their Nurse, Parent, Advocate, Disciplinarian, Role Model, Psychologist, Chaperone, Facilitator, Guide, Coach, Encourager, Protector, and most importantly a friend.
Chelsea never thinks twice about doing what needs to be done for her students. Regardless if that means spending her sunny Sundays researching strategies to make her lessons more fun for her students, or something as simple as running out and buying a needy student a new pair of shoes instead of buying herself a sand which. These actions come as second nature to Chelsea. She was born to give to children the beauty that she carries in her soul. She is the first to say that she has much to learn, but never ceases to stop yearning for knowledge on how to perfect her craft.
Chelsea serves her children as if they were her own. When she delivers instruction she does so from the bottom of her gut. Her students trust and love her. This can be witnesses in the manner in which they speak to her and look at her as if it was 5:00pm at home and they are all in the living room having a family conversation. The air is light in her room and the ambiance a warm and inviting one. The rigid structure one would expect in a classroom is not the feeling her students witness daily. They have the privilege of being true participants in their learning by creating the conversation along with their teacher. While others talk at their students Chelsea works hard at giving her students the opportunity to make their learning their own.
Even with all of her effort the classroom dynamics are limited because of the lack of funding her school has. I know Chelsea enough to say that this year for her birthday she would be most grateful, not if we showered her with gifts, but if we came together to help her help her students in a more engaging, entertaining and efficient manner.
For Chelseas birthday I ask that you donate any amount that you would like to help purchase her a brand new Ipad! Which she could use in her classroom and maybe even make some cool projects at home too!
