Timmy Global Health is an organization that I was lucky enough to be apart of during my time at Indiana University. Its mission is to expand access to healthcare while empowering students and volunteers to tackle today's global health issues. The Indiana University chapter partners with a clinic named Pop Wuj to provide healthcare to the people of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala who might otherwise have access to it. We are working with Pop Wuj to build up health of the people they treat so that some day they won't need Timmy anymore and will be able to support themselves and help the city prosper. After all, Timmy is in the business of putting themselves out of business. We fundraise year round and all funds go to support Pop Wuj. I was lucky enough to travel to Guatemala twice and work with the staff of Pop Wuj during our spring break medical brigade. Every year, 20 students get to go and help run a mobile clinic for 5 days. I learned so much while being a part of this organization that I still want to help support them as an alum of the IU chapter. A little goes a long way to helping someone receive better healthcare. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization and being a part of building healthier futures for the people of Guatemala!
