Aloha! Be a hero to a child. I'm reaching out to you, my family, family of friends and your friends.
Surfing is a passion of mine for the last 45 years. I have been blessed to be able to use my knowledge in surfing and of the ocean for the past 8 years to volunteer and reach out to children with physical, mental, emotional or social debilities.
As a quote from a blind child in one of our surf camps sums it up perfectly. "If I can do this...I can do anything !”
Our mission at Indo Jax Surf Charity is to help empower these children form all walks of life afflicted with autism, diabetes, HIV, deafness, blindness and spinal injuries. Also at risk youth, orphaned children or any child with special needs. Our camps are provided for these children at no charge.
At Indo Jax, we believe surfing and introducing a child to the magnificence of the ocean, transforms them. From being shy and self-conscious, to building confidence, self esteem and making a positive impact in their outlook on life. Giving them a slice of a normal childhood like most of us had when we were young. Even if for a day. This also encompasses family and friends. At times serendipitously changing the lives, direction and dynamics of entire families through surfing. Remember most scars are not visible.
January 2017 marks our 8th annual fund raiser for IndoJax Surf Charity from Wilmington, NC. Once again, the children need you. Each year your donation enables us to allow all these children attend an Indo Jax Surf Charity camp. This year to reach even more children and with your help, we will. Now's the time for "dropping in." (surf lingo for catching a big wave) The donations we raise are used to purchase special equipment, help with transportation costs, food, beach supplies, support local and even a couple international charities. This year a large portion will be use to replenish our supplies for the orphans in India. Due to lack of funds last year, we were unable to go in full force. So please help.
We invest in a childs well being. Without you this would not be possible. IndoJax is a 501(3)c charity. Your donation is tax deductable. ....and yes it is true, at an orphan's camp, I taught a nun to surf in full regalia. Habit, rosary and all !.
Please watch the videos when you have the chance. More info can be found at: www.lndojax.com.
SURF'S UP! So paddle into the line up, drop in, and help a child get stoked with the ride of their life.
With much kowabunga and thanks,
