BENEFITING: STEPHENS COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY
In dog years I’m dead.
Yep. It’s happening. I’m turning 50 and I’m not happy about it. Oprah did it first. When she turned 50, Oprah posted “Wow, I can hardly believe it’s here! I made it. Fifty. Me.”
I don’t want to be 350 in dog years!
Not that I hate dogs. Seriously. I love dogs! I love cats too! I love all animals (except scorpions!). Sooooo….I thought maybe I could turn this not-so-fun event into something fun! You guessed it – something that would benefit the animals of Stephens County Humane Society!!
Stephens County Humane Society is an amazing organization! Staff members who work 365 days a year to feed, clean and love the animals brought to the shelter. Board members who give up vacations, family time and hard-earned funds to support the mission that they believe to be SCHS. Our vet who lives and breathes shelter medicine. Most of all – the supporters who send money, gifts and prayers just when we need them!
The SCHS shelter is a place of hope for me. Some might think that it’s a sad place, where animals are kept in barren cold kennels. Not me - I see animals who receive food, medicine, a safe comfortable bed – and most of all – a soft touch and a loving voice. Each day we adopt animals into loving homes – only to fill up again – an unending stream of unwanted animals. Each day we fundraise so we can take in more animals. I would love for my birthday to be meaningful for these animals!
It would be amazing if 25 of my friends and family were to donate $20 each to my “passion” in honor of my 350th dog year.
$500 would make a HUGE difference to our animals at SCHS! In fact – it could:
• send 20 dogs on transport to a rescue in Colorado
• spay/neuter 20 cats
• Purchase 2 weeks worth of surgery supplies for our mobile spay/neuter clinic.
So much good could be done!!!
And I promise not to complain ever again about turning 50!
Love you - and thank you,
