Hello! I’m Alex. I’m a teacher at Kabazana Primary School in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.
Kabazana has 1,700 students, but my idea is to help 15 students in particular. These are our children with special needs. Most of them have a hard time playing outside with the other kids. But we know how important playing is for kids – without playing they can become dark. We still want these students to have a chance to play.
So, my idea is to get board games for the students – so they at least have the chance to play indoors. We would purchase games like chess, and chutes and ladders – lots of games to keep the students’ interest.
I’ve assembled a group of teachers who will run with me on World Refugee Day at the 5k. Please donate, if you can, and help us bring board games to our students with special needs!
