The Story

The Armory Foundation is hosting New York City's first Indoor Sprint Duathlon at the Armory Track, raising awareness and funds in support of the foundation's Armory College Prep program. 

 

Armory College Prep is a dynamic program that puts students from underserved communities on track for lifelong success by helping them realize the dream of a four-year college degree.  ACP track record:

 

  • 95% of Armory College Prep Students enroll in a four-year college program vs 53% of New York City students.

 

  • Since 2014 ACP seniors have been offered over $3 million in scholarships and grants.  In 2016, ACP students averaged $44K.  In 2015, ACP students averaged $35K.

 

  • In 2016 ACP students included a New York Times Scholarship winner, a Scholastic Art and Writing Award recipient, a QuestBridge Scholarship honoree, a LEDA Diversity Program Scholar, a Beat the Odds Scholarship Program winner and a finalist for the Gates Millennium Scholarship. 

 

The Event

 

More records have been set on the Armory track than any other track in the world.  Join us in setting another record, raising awareness and funds for Armory College Prep.

 

Our one-day event begins at 7:00am and continues until 10:00pm.  Each participant completes 20K on a performance spin bike and transitions to a 5K  run on the historic track. 

 

There are 15 hourly waves, with 35 participants in each wave.

 

Participants can enter either as individuals or an 8-person group in the 200K for $200K Team Challenge. The 200K Team Challenge is a great opportunity to connect with your friends, family, or colleagues in support of Armory College Prep.

8 men, 8 women, mixed 4 + 4

Each team member to complete 20K bike + 5K run to score

Athletes can score in one division only - Men’s, Women’s, or Mixed
