THE STORY:

Hi,

This fundraising is in memory of Gráinne and Darragh.

We have spent many years looking and hoping for a cure. INDREPTA is not a cure but it may be beneficial to Fergal and all those in Ireland and around the world with Cystic Fibrosis.

Please WAIT for further information BEFORE donating.

Aidan.

SHARKTANK RESEARCH FOUNDATION wrote -

Sharktank Research Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 1998 and dedicated to cystic fibrosis (CF) research. Sharktank promotes patient-driven initiatives that are accessible, affordable and support the well-being of all cystic fibrosis patients.

The CF community is active and tightly linked, and therefore ideal to lead a new public health movement with significant patient involvement. Sharktank is rapidly crowdfunding and crowd-developing natural therapies for CF by using the CF community’s dedication and collective buying p

aitower, and by sharing outcomes to find what works best.

Sharktank’s flagship project is to create the first effective and affordable crowdfunded and crowd-developed nutraceutical supplement therapy to help CF patients manage their health more naturally. We are using multiple GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) ingredients that are freely available to anyone for use in food and dietary supplements. After extensive research by our affiliated scientists and by cystic fibrosis patients, this natural supplement—called Indrepta—will be released in the next few months.

Although we cannot make specific medical claims, Indrepta contains ingredients demonstrated to correct and/or potentiate the defective cystic fibrosis protein (CFTR). Correctors help CFTR move to the right place in the cell, and potentiators help the CFTR proteins function better once they are properly located.

Unfortunately, cystic fibrosis patients who live in countries with health services that do not cover the more expensive CF drugs are left behind. Thus far, new pharmaceutical drugs have worked well for only a small percentage of CF mutations, and clinical trials to develop treatments for less common CF mutations are not cost effective for pharmaceutical companies. But, by working together, we can develop and test natural therapies right now for patients in the U.S. and worldwide.

Pharmaceutical drug correctors and potentiators of CFTR are among the most expensive drugs in history, and may have side effects. In contrast, the ingredients in Indrepta are time-tested for safety, and the cost of Indrepta will be comparable to other natural supplements. Our shared buying power makes highest quality ingredients affordable.

Different CF mutations may require varied combinations and amounts of ingredients to restore maximum CFTR function. With the participation and feedback of CF patients in this project, we can refine the supplement composition to the genetic profile of the patient.

Our second project will be a home test kit that allows patients to measure changes in their own CFTR function in response to dietary changes and drug treatments. This test will allow truly individualized treatment of CF.

We are hoping for your help and participation in these projects. For each $50 tax-deductible contribution to our non-profit, we will send you a one month’s supply bottle of Indrepta as soon as it becomes available. Initially we can manufacture Indrepta in 1000 unit orders. Donations will help cover costs of manufacturing and ongoing research to improve the product by mutation based on feedback we receive through existing and new social media infrastructure. Your involvement will make all the difference!
