Newborn Resuscitation Model for South-Central Washington
Organized by: Lorri Carr
Why are we doing this? Goldendale sits in the center of a medically underserved rural area, with mostly volunteers serving as First Responders. In particular, there are no hospitals nearby which offer maternity care (birthing). Highland Midwife is helping by planning skills practice and training workshop weekends at their office. The classes will be open to anyone who wishes to attend, and many of our local volunteers will be invited to classes for free. We will be donating our space, our time, and many of the supplies being used, but desperately need one critical piece of equipment - a newborn model for teaching and practicing advanced lifesaving skills for babies, which is terribly expensive and outside of our budget unless we have some help with the cost. Would you like to see Klickitat and neighboring counties (Yakima, Wasco, etc.) be a safer place for newborns and babies? Can you chip in? Come on folks, if enough of us donate just a little, we can make this happen!
