EVENT DATE: Mar 08, 2013
The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) organizes a community-service oriented internship program, Alternative Spring Break, for graduate students to spend a week volunteering at an educational, nonprofit or cultural heritage organization in different cities around the country. Students are given the chance to volunteer our time to posivitely affect the world around us, while also gaining professional skills, practical experience and participating in valuable networking opportunities.
I will be working at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington DC, on a data collection project in the paper collections of the Ralph Rinzler Folklife Archive. This project is focused around the theme of information access and literary.
I want to raise awareness of and economic support for this wonderful program - and I could use your help to achieve my fundraising goal of $500! All of your donations go directly toward the University of Michigan, to support sending students, just like me, on the Alternative Spring Break program in March.
In addition, any donation made is a 501c(3) and is 100% tax deductible!
Thank you for your support in helping make this incredible opportunity possible!
