In Memory of Christian Hernandez
Organized by: Rita Privitera
On the evening of October 28th, 2015 our lives changed forever. Christian Hernandez was killed in a tragic car accident at the young age of 23. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Chris will tell you that he was a giving, loving, hard working young man. He always had a bright happy smile on his face and was a person who would truly give you the shirt off his back. Christian was known to go to great lengths to cheer up his family and friends or just be there for them when they needed him. It was as though he was an angel sent to us here on Earth to teach us how we should truly be living our own lives. Because he was a universal blood donor, Christian believed that he had “special blood” and donated as often as possible. In life he helped countless individuals with his blood donations and in death he donated bones and blood vessels which will help dialysis patients as well as over 50 children with bone cancer. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of all of us that knew him and those he never knew, but saved. Christian had just graduated from SUNY Albany and was beginning to plan for his future. Now, a family who was paying for college loans is paying the unexpected cost of funeral expenses. Please find it in your hearts to donate something to help them out. However big or small the donation, we can all help make a difference in this tragic time.
