On August 31, 2015, a great friend, brother, and son - Sean Michael Reveley, passed in his sleep from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). Sean was passionate, positive, and full of energy. He loved life and lived each day to the fullest. In honor of Sean, it is our mission to raise awareness and understanding of SUDEP to help find its cause and prevent any future deaths. Please donate to Sean's Initiative and help us contribute to the SUDEP Institute.
SUDEP is the sudden, unexpected death of someone with epilepsy, who was otherwise healthy. No other cause of death is found when an autopsy is done. Each year, more than 1 out of 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP. If seizures are uncontrolled the risk of SUDEP increases to more than 1 out of 150.
