BENEFITING: The ALS Association
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
My sister-in-law, Terri, died of ALS this past May. She passed in the early morning of the day of her 11th wedding anniversary. ALS is a tragic disease that renders the body useless while the mind remains sound. A person with ALS is completely aware of what is happening around them while trapped in a progressively useless body. I am retired and my social base is small. I need help raising funds. No longer living in the DC area I have already purchased my flight so I can accompany my brother as we walk in Terri's honor. I had the honor of pushing her in her wheel chair part of the time in last year's fundraiser walk. It is a 3 mile trek on November 1, 2015 around the Washington Monument Mall. I promise I will walk all of it. I am registered on the ALS Association as a member of Terri's Warriors team. If you need more information on ALS, please view Anthony Carbajal's Story. It is a short video showing exactly what he faces as he tries to take care of his ALS mother and deal with his own diagnosis.
